Expressions of Interest are being called for Branch Education Officers

Expressions of Interest are being called for four Branch Education Officers (BEOs) from the following states to join the Clinical Radiology Education and Training Committee (CRETC). The aim of CRETC is to develop educational content, assessments and accreditation mechanisms that would ensure that trainees can become competent radiologists and to assess suitability of candidates for Fellowship.

The BEO:

  • Monitors and supports the training program within their own networks. 
  • Liaises regularly with the Network Training Directors (NTDs) regarding any significant training issues. 
  • Chairs the Network Governance Committee of their Branch. 
  • Has a broad understanding of and experience with the delivery of College education activities. 
  • Acts as a conduit between the College, the trainees, the training departments, and the health authorities of the relevant jurisdictions and supports the accreditation process.
  • Reports to the Clinical Radiology Education and Training Committee (CRETC).

Commitment

The successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Regularly participate in CRETC meetings, approximately four times per year (two face-to-face) as well as any out-of-session emails.
  • Act as a conduit between the CRETC, the NTDs and the Local Governance Committee (LGC), disseminating information about Committee decisions and planning, and feeding concerns and queries from Networks back to the CRETC.
  • Act as a champion for College policies and procedures, explaining new policies and assisting with their implementation.
  • Support and monitor the implementation of the training program within the BEO’s own Branch.
  • Assist the Network Governance Committees (NGC) with the co-ordination of recruitment and selection processes.
  • Regularly participate in the Branch Committee meetings.

 Eligibility criteria  

  • A Fellow of RANZCR.
  • Five years consultant experience in a Clinical Radiology department at an accredited training site.
