Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) have been widely implemented throughout Australia in the last decade, however the inability of different systems to connect, communicate and share information and images beyond organisational boundaries has a significant adverse impact on patient management. This roadmap outlines the 7 guiding principles to the implementation of image sharing by clinicians across different health providers.
