The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) advocates for a national cancer screening program for Australia and New Zealand that responds to the changing needs within our communities and is effective, equitable and fully funded.

RANZCR strongly supports the extension of the current national cancer screening program in both Australia and New Zealand to include lung cancer screening. As a strategy for cancer control, a national screening program will detect disease at its earliest stages reducing lung-cancer deaths. There is significant opportunity to reduce our most formidable cancer risk through low-dose computed tomographic (LDCT) screening that can detect lung cancers in its early stage.
